As the Super Fun Survey results roll in, we are increasing our awareness of who is coming, when, and what skills and interests they have to contribute. If you haven't yet taken the Super Fun Survey - you should - it's super fun...and very functional.

Rainbow Kitchen DreemTeam Newsletter - 3.2.11 (Archieve)

The Gathering Nears!

As you know, the Rainbow Gathering is approaching steadily and there is so much excitement about it floating around. In an effort to not overwhelm anyone with my own excitement, I will attempt to keep these newsletters as informative yet concise as possible. Wish me luck!

The most important thing for organizing the Kitchen right now is to get an understanding of who of us is coming, when, and what we are passionate about contributing. I have created the online "Rainbow Kitchen DreemTeam Super Fun Survey!" for you to take. It is 10 questions short and should be a fun way to get you thinking about the Gathering and the DreemKitchen specifically. Once it is complete, you should be able to see other Dreemer's answers and we can begin organizing the Team! These answers will also help shape your bio on the DreemTeam Roster page.

Please please, pretty please do the Super Fun Survey?

Digital Safari Design - Career Explorations Program!

We recently were offered the opportunity to be part of the Digital Safari Design's, Career Explorations Program.

"Digital Safari Design is a student-run digital media production "company" operated by the junior class of the Digital Safari Academy. For the spring semester, Digital Safari Design is taking on a limited number of design projects for Bay Area non-profit organizations and public agencies. We're looking for engaging print, video, web and photography projects that will support your group's marketing, promotional and educational efforts while providing our students with an opportunity to use their skills and learn more about what your organization does for our community. "

We're very excited about this project, and had our first meeting with our Safari Team on Wednesday, March 2nd. Our gifted group consists of four young women, each holding unique skills to offer to the Team and the project. They are:

  1. Winnie Wambui (Creative Director), interested in writing and editing
  2. Qua'tasia Williams, interested in photoshop and graphics
  3. Brenda Bach, interested in photography
  4. Nina Tran, interested in video production
We have all decided to meet every Monday at their school, in order to keep the project moving forward and allow for ample face-time between the ladies and D.r.e.e.m. Reality. Their project involves the creation of printed material, web design, and educational video.

Here is the overview of what we have decided to create together (the bold are the priorities and the unbolded are extras):

I. Printed Material
  • "What is D.r.e.e.m. Reality?" Brochure
  • "What is Sustainability?: Brochure
  • Logo and Tag Line Redesign
  • Business (Dreem) Card Redesign
  • T-shirt and Banner Design
II. Web Design
  • Website Redesign and Structuring (color scheme, layout, art, etc)
  • Educational Flash Animation
III. Educational Video
  • "What happens to water after it goes down the drain?" Video
  • On the Street interviews

The project due date is May 13th, so we have a good amount of time to work together on something great! It is so important for us to give the Team full credit for their work, and so have dedicated a page on the website to them and in order to share the progress of the project.

Check this out on our website - Here!

Melinda and I are both excited to welcome these wonderful students to the DreemTeam and are anticipating great things from our cooperation!

~Dani
