Oregon Country Fair and Welcome to Aaron!

This past weekend, July 9 - 11th, D.r.e.e.m. Reality sent up a camp at the Oregon Country Fair in Veneta. It was a beautiful arts and music fair with amazing people and creativity. We set up our camp with the D.r.e.e.m. Reality banner flying. We had brought pamphlets of course, so created a small pamphlet holder out of a discarded coconut water drink box, then tied it to the tree! People took lots of Pamphlets and it always feels good to have people ask questions.

There was an "Energy Park" and "Intentional Communities" section of the fair. We spent a significant amount of time exploring these areas. Specifically, we connected with an Oregon Ecovillage called Lost Valley. They are also an educational non-profit that has been up and running for a while, and we know we will be learning a lot from them. It is our plan to participate in their internship program as well as to take their "Social Permaculture and Community Design" class as soon as possible - probably after the upcoming Hawaiian Research Project! This class will help us understand the essential inner-workings of the social glue that is necessary in starting and maintaining a successful organization and community.

In total, we had four of our Directors present for this Fair. Dani, Melinda, Annette, and our newest Director - Aaron Noble!

WELCOME AARON!

Aaron is truly an amazing addition to our D.r.e.e.m. Team. His drive and awareness is more than impressive, as he has already established his own operating ministry. He also is a powerful yoga instructor (I know, I've taken his class!), as well as a vibrational sound healer. We know he will prove to be an essential member of the Team!

Articles of Incorporation - Dropped Off!

On the way up north for the Oregon Country Fair, we stopped in Sacramento to drop off our Articles of Incorporation Directly to the Secretary of States office! It should take a lot less time now since it doesn't have to go through the mail processing.

But HOORAY! They are submitted again!

Articles of Incorporation returned, Unfiled!

So we return from our latest adventure to discover our Articles of Incorporation have finally arrived! However, they are unfiled. A simple and silly mistake - in Article Three we forgot to put the name of the initial agent.

An easy fix that we have already corrected and are sending back out tomorrow, July 5th. Luckily this time we have a direct name and office to send it to, so it will hopefully take less than 2 months to process like last time.

We're also hoping that we can have the tax exempt status application ready to send out immediately when it returns.

Onward!

Hawaii and Beach Walk Clean Ups!

We are still awaiting our approved Articles of Incorporation in the mail, but we are sure they will be here very soon. While we are waiting we are eagerly preparing for our very first research trip!

With the Eco-facility Research Project in the hopefully near future, we want to make sure we take every opportunity to have an effective study. Therefore, we are taking three months to travel the Big Island of Hawaii to learn and participate in work exchange on several Ecovillages and Farms. It is our goal to start becoming familiar with the ways that these systems work - first hand. So from August 10th until November 11th we will be on this adventure!

On another note, our Directors Ashley and Crystal take part in a daily beach walk in Santa Cruz, California. While they walk, they collect trash! This past week we joined them...
